Hello,
Yes, our brackets are mounted 16" on center to be able to hit the most common spacing between studs. If you are able to hit both studs, that would be all you would need for mounting this bench. If studs are not in the correct spots we do recommend wooden wall backing to be placed between the studs in order to mount the bench properly.
