Thank you for your question regarding the Teak Bathtub Shelf/Seat. While we do not recommend modifying our products, as this voids our warranty, it is technically possible to alter the bathtub seat with some important restrictions. Please note that there are biscuits located 1 1/2" in from each side that help secure the wood; cutting through these could compromise the structural integrity. Additionally, modifying the shelf/seat may cause splintering or chipping due to the space required for the sliding mechanism. Depending on your space, one option could be to secure one side of the bathtub bench inside the tub and the other outside, creating an overhang—though we understand this may not be ideal. Alternatively, we recommend ordering a custom size directly from us to ensure a perfect fit and maintain your warranty.
