Hello,
There is nothing that needs to be done to a new teak product from us. It will arrive with a light coat of teak oil on it and you can install and use it right away. After a while you may notice the wood drying up or if you see any soap or shampoo residue building on it you may need to use a nylon bristle brush to remove it. Over a longer period of time, you may want to sand and re-oil your bench, but that is only a cosmetic need depending on how you want the teak to look.
